DANKO

guest teacher

Lesego Ndlovu, professionally known as “Danko.k,” is a South African choreographer born and raised in Soweto Meadowlands. danko.k started dancing at a very young age, although the exact age is unclear, and over the years, he never imagined that dance would take him to where he is today. He began his dance journey in the early years of high school and realized that it was his passion that drove him forward in this art, without being truly inspired to start by an older brother or any elder figure. Through his work, Danko.k has contributed over the years to the Amapiano genre and culture, creating phenomenal choreographies that have made waves on the internet, including: Jakalas DC, Banani Maboko DC, and Mdantso Nyana DC.

In December, Johannesburg benefits from around 8 hours of sunshine per day and a pretty warm climate. You still risk having short rains from time to time.

Average temperatures are between 15°C and 27°C but depending on the year they can rise up to 34°C.

Johannesburg, South Africa : UTC+2 Time

Bring light comfortable clothes, sneakers and walking shoes, and a raincoat.

If you are thinking of going on a safari, bring high shoes and socks to protect yourself from the insects! Obviously, binoculars and a camera, a flashlight, a cap or hat, sunglasses, sunscreen because the sun burns during the day in the parks.

In South Africa, the voltage and frequency are 230 V, 50 Hz.

The prices are 30% to 40% cheaper than in Europe! To eat, count 25 euros per day per person. To get around, count 0.68 euro per kilometer for a taxi. For a local beer (50 cl draft) 30 ZAR or €1.67.

Statistically, Johannesburg remains one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Nevertheless, millions of people live there happily! To avoid being in danger, all you have to do is flee the places at risk and be careful. A few tips: opt for taxis instead of public transport, carry mobile phones in bags and not in your hand, avoid expensive jewelry...
