The destination
Abidjan is a city where life is good. It is also the most populated city in French-speaking West Africa. The warmth comes from the equatorial climate but also from its people known for their good spirit. Between tradition and modernism, Abidjan has experienced an unprecedented development in recent years. From skyscrapers to luxurious resorts, from the “maquis” where you can eat a good “attiéké poisson” to craft centers, you will find everything you hope for.
The program
Day 1
Departure from Paris Orly with Corsair airline, direct flight. Arrival in Abidjan in the evening. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Day 2
Welcome meeting and tour of the neighborhood in the mornng. Dance class with Boun and workshops with the local dancers in the afternoon.Free evening or optional dance classes at Artkoya.
Day 3
Dance class with Boun in the morning. Traditionnal afro class and workshopwih the Ekklesia ONG kids in the afternoon.Free evening or optional dance classes at Artkoya.
Day 4
Optional beach and chill day in Assinie at Maison d'Akoula.
Day 5
Dance class with Boun and workshop with the local dancers in the morning. Rehearsal by the pool in the afternoon.Free evening or optional dance classes at Artkoya.
Day 6
Free morning. Optional city tour in the afternoon. Free evening.
Day 7
Shooting video all day. Farewell dinner.
Day 8
Free morning and afternoon. Check out and transfer to the airport.

You will be staying at Silver Moon, a boutique hotel located in Cocody in a residential area of Abidjan. You will find everything you need : nice and comfortable air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant, a terrace and an outdoor bar to chill and most of all a swimming pool to relax after dance classes.

The team
Boun
Boun started Hip Hop as a teenager.
He practiced the discipline for several years before falling in love with Afro-Caribbean dances which would become his primary disciplines. He is part of Invictus Crew, who won the international competition "Dancehall Master World" in 2016. In 2019 he created his company, the Whocan Crew, which performed in various events, shows, etc. He participates in Incroyable Talent and in many TV sets (France 2, TF1, M6, ARTE etc). He is also choreographer for the movie "MIGNONNES" and for Eurovision 2022. Today he is a confirmed choreographer and teaches around the world.
Karismatik Project
Dancer, choreographer and artistic director, Rhodes created the group Karismatik Project in 2016. The group got quickly noticed for its boundless energy, which allowed them to collaborate with many Ivorian artists and participate in national advertising campaigns. After only one year of existence, Karimastik emerged as revelation of the year at the BABI DANCE BATTLE national competition in 2017. The group reaches the final and Rhodes is elected best choreographer of the year at the African Talent Awards. Today, the crew continues to rise and participates in numerous events, concerts and videos. If the group excels in the legendary coupé décalé, it is also diversifying with afro fusion and biama, the new Ivorian trend.
Franck
Taha
AFRO TRADITIONNAL DANSES
From a very young age, Franck showed his deep love for dancing. He participates in the show Varietoscope where he is twice finalist as a performer from 2007 to 2010, and twice finalist as a choreographer in 2021 and 2022. He created the group Assaut Final of which he is captain for 4 years. In 2016, he joins the National Higher Institute of Art and Cultural Action (INSAAC) in dance and choreography. A year later, he founds his company IVOIRE BEL ART where he helds the positions of artistic director and choreographer. In 2022, he wins the Dancer and Choreographer of the Year award at the Kikkar Awards. His choreographies bear the characteristics of the dances, masks and initiation rites of the Wè culture, a tribe of Western Ivory Coast.
Patricia
LEADER
Urban dances teacher at different types of structures (dance schools, medical-educational institutes, children's hospitals), Patricia has been in the artistic world for more than 20 years. Along with her teaching and creative activities, she organizes dance trips for Agapé Voyages (London, NYC, Los Angeles, Seoul, Jamaica, etc.) which becomes GOSSA after the Covid crisis. Recently she has also devoted herself to the interactive show “Cendrillon Wesh!” », mixing dance and stand-up on the theme of Harassment. With her legendary energy and smile, she will lead and help the group during the whole trip at Paris airport upon departure.

Formalities and General information
It is mandatory to have a valid passport valid for 6 months after the date of return from the trip.
French, Belgian, Swiss and EU nationals must obtain a visa or e-visa before departure. The Ivorian authorities have introduced an online traveler visa to be obtained before departure. The E-Visa SNEDAI Cote d'Ivoire allows you to avoid completing your formalities by sending your passport by registered mail or by going to the Consulate General with an enrollment, because everything is done on the internet. To board, with the passport and e-visa, you must:
– If vaccinated, 1 Copy of EU Vaccination Certificate retrieved from Ameli with min. 2 doses (2/2 or 3/3).
OR
– If not vaccinated, 1 printed negative Covid PCR test with sample taken less than 72 hours before entering the country and 1 travel declaration completed and printed.
In addition, the yellow fever vaccine is mandatory to be able to enter Ivorian territory. It is done in the form of an injection at least 10 days before your departure.
The currency used is the West African CFA franc (XOF).
In May, average temperatures are between 25°C and 32°C. Despite the seasonal showers, Abidjan enjoys about 6 hours of sunshine per day.

Bring light clothing, walking shoes, a swimsuit, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a raincoat or an umbrella.
The cost of living in Ivory Coast is 38% lower than in Europe at least if you consume local products! For example, when it comes to food in Abidjan, the prices vary a lot: the “maquis” allow you to have a meal between 5,000 and 10,000 XOF, while a menu in a luxury restaurant will cost no less than 20 000 XOF (30 €). Also good to know: a taxi is 500 XOF for pick-up then 500 XOF per km, local beer 600 XOF, 1 coke 454 XOF.
For the rest, it is always possible to negotiate, especially when it comes to shopping at the craft markets.
